THE PROMISE

The KY Christmas Lights Promise

We’re not the cheapest option upfront—and we don’t try to be. Instead, we focus on reliability, safety, and service. Returning customers receive special discounts, making us the most cost-effective choice in the long run.

Why it matters: You’re not just buying lights—you’re investing in a trusted local company that delivers lasting value, year after year.

LEASE VS. BUY

We lease the lights, and that is on purpose

Your display is leased, not sold. The materials stay ours, which means keeping them in working order is our job and our cost. It is also what lets us install a whole season’s worth of homes in a few short weeks.

Yours to enjoy. Ours to maintain.

01

We maintain what we own

Because the materials are ours, replacing a worn strand, a cracked socket or a faded bulb is our cost, not a line item on your invoice. Nothing on your home is left to age out.

02

Labeled and stored by address

Every strand is cut for your property, tagged to your address, and logged in our system. It comes out of the warehouse ready for your roofline, not sorted on your driveway.

03

Inspected in the offseason

Between seasons each set is tested, repaired and re-bundled. Failures get caught in July instead of the week of Thanksgiving.

04

Built for a condensed season

The install window is a few short weeks. Pre-cut, pre-tested, pre-labeled materials are what let a crew arrive, hang, and be done in one visit.

BEHIND THE SYSTEM
We built the software this industry runs on

The labeling, inspection and storage system behind your display is our own software, Light Installer Pro. Installers in other markets now run their seasons on it.

We built it, so there is no added cost for KY Christmas Lights customers. Other installers may subscribe to our software — click the button to learn more.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING

Buying the lights sounds cheaper. Fast forward three years.

Some installers will sell you the materials up front. It reads well on the first invoice. These are the questions worth asking before you sign one.

01

When a strand wears out, who replaces it?

Bulbs fade, sockets crack, and cords stiffen after a few Kentucky winters. Once the materials are yours, replacement is your line item and your errand — usually discovered the week you want the lights on.

Leased displays are ours to keep working. Worn material is replaced at our cost, not quoted back to you.
02

What happens when the replacement does not match?

Bulbs from a different manufacturing batch read warmer or cooler than the ones beside them, even with the same part number on the box. One repaired section can make an entire roofline look patched.

We buy and store in volume, track batches by property, and replace whole runs rather than single bulbs when a batch no longer matches.
03

If it is damaged or stolen, is it insured?

Material you purchased sits in someone else’s truck and warehouse for ten months. If it is lost to damage or theft, is it covered under their policy or yours? And if they are not tracking individual strands and measurements, every run has to be re-measured and re-cut from scratch.

Every strand is measured, cut and logged to your address in our own system, and insured while it is in our care. A loss means we rebuild from the record, not from your roof.
04

How do you know the materials price is the real price?

When materials are sold to you, the markup sits inside a number you cannot compare. Two quotes with the same bulb count can differ by hundreds and neither one shows you why.

You are not buying hardware from us, so there is no material markup to hide. The quote covers design, install, service, takedown and storage.

Buying is not wrong for everyone. It is wrong for anyone who does not want to own a maintenance problem in year three.

Pricing: An Investment in Peace of Mind

At KY Christmas Lights, we believe holiday lighting is more than just an expense—it’s an investment in safety, beauty, and time well spent with your family. While many installers compete on price, we’ve chosen a different path. We use premium materials and proven systems to ensure your display is reliable, stunning, and worry-free year after year.

Our prices aren’t the cheapest and that’s by design. We’re not trying to be the cheapest option up front—we’re committed to being the best value in the long run. Customers who stay with us year after year enjoy priority scheduling, special discounts, and the assurance that their holidays will always be brighter, safer, and simpler.

Factors That Affect Pricing

Number of Levels (1-Story vs. 2-Story)

Single-story homes are typically simpler to access, while two-story homes require additional equipment, labor, and safety precautions.

Complexity of Roofline

Straight rooflines are quick to install. Homes with steep pitches, dormers, or detailed architecture require additional time, skill, and safety measures.

Scope of Design

The more extensive your display, the greater the investment. Lighting a roofline alone is less than a full-wrap design that includes trees, walkways, and landscaping.

Time & Labor

The size of your home and complexity of your chosen design will impact installation time. Larger or more detailed displays require more labor to install safely and properly.

Materials & Overhead

Every install includes premium, commercial-grade LED lights, durable clips, professional installation equipment, liability insurance, and off-season storage. These factors ensure you receive not just a beautiful display, but also one that is safe, reliable, and maintained.

1-Year vs. Multi-Year Agreement

A one-year agreement covers design, installation, takedown, and storage each season. A multi-year agreement locks in discounts, ensures priority scheduling, and saves you money over time.

THE TRADE-OFF

Why Not Go Cheap?

Every year, we get calls from homeowners who went with the cheapest option—only to be left with broken lights, no-shows, installers who never returned to take the lights down, and even dangerous wiring that melted wires (no kidding!). What seemed like a bargain quickly became the most expensive choice of all.

When you choose KY Christmas Lights, you’re choosing a trusted partner for the long term—one that guarantees reliability, protects your home, and ensures your holidays shine without hassle.

Is saving a few hundred dollars worth chasing down an installer — or spending your own time next year when the budget guy decides he doesn’t want to do it anymore?

In short: cheaper today often means costlier tomorrow. We’re here to give you lasting value, not temporary savings.
